GUWAHATI: The rapid antigen tests in Guwahati Central Jail found all 1,165 inmates as COVID-19 negative.
According to sources, at present there are 1,165 inmates in Guwahati Central Jail. All of them have been found negative for COVID-19.
Following the recommendations of high-power committee (HPC), bails have been granted to some of the inmates.
On the other hand, the authorities have been regularly sanitising the jail to prevent COVID-19 infection. Other COVID-19 protocols are also being ensured inside the jail. The authorities are also making arrangements of vaccination for all the inmates.
It is to be noted that 75 inmates of Sivasagar district jail have been found COVID-19 positive recently. Some other jails in the state have also turned into COVID-19 hotspots.
