GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora claimed All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal is not a communal person.
“Election commission or the constitution has not termed Ajmal as communal. One who loves his own religion and does not hate others is not a communal person,” Bora remarked.
Meanwhile, Assam cabinet minister and BJP leader Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma reacted sharply to Bora’s remarks.
“Let Ripun Bora’s grandchildren to be named as Badaruddin Ajmal, Giyasuddin Ajmal and Nijamuddin Ajmal,” the minister said.
