GUWAHATI: With barely a few days left for the assembly elections to be held, poll fever across the State has reached a feverish pitch. Taking a potshot at All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, NEDA convenor and Assam finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma termed Ajmal a threat to the civilisation.
“He is a threat to our civilisation, our civilisational value,” Sarma alleged on Friday at Hojai.
The senior BJP leader said Ajmal is not a factor for the BJP, but for Assam and country.
“He is not a factor in election. But he is a factor for our civilisation and culture. We will defeat him in the election,” Sarma added.
