GUWAHATI, Jan 10: Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora today inaugurated the three-day Bhogali Mela at Khanapara, Guwahati.
Guwahati Lok Sabha MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Chief Managing Editor of News Live Syed Zarir Hussain, Editor-in-Chief of Northeast Live Wasbir Hussain, BJP Assam Pradesh Kisan Morcha vice-president Ranjit Bhattacharjee along with several other invited guests also attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Bhogali Mela is being organized jointly by Pride East Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. and BJP Kisan Morcha.
Stalls selling Bihu delicacies like pitha, laroo, doi, sira and other confectionaries have been put up near the Khanapara Veterinary playground.
The mela will be open for visitors from 9 am to 9 pm till Sunday.
A pitha competitions was also organized with many woman taking part in it.
Cultural evenings are also being organized at the Bhogali Mela venue where several singers are scheduled to perform to make the environment more lively and entertaining.
