Aesthetic Beauty expert, Dr Madhuri Agarwal: Over zealous home treatments have led to skin disasters

Covid-19 and the followed lockdown affected every sector of life. The beauty and skincare sector too faced its repercussions in the initial days but as things started loosening with vaccine drives and appropriate measures being followed, the in-clinic skincare has regained momentum. Dr. Madhuri Agarwal, the lady behind Yavana Aesthetics Clinic spotted a common issue with some of her clients post the lockdown. Due to internet suggestions, overzealous home remedies and usage of multiple products led to skin disasters. 

Dr. Madhuri found that there has been a rise in the need for in-clinic skincare treatments. In her view, the most popular in-clinic treatments that have seen an increase in full body laser hair reduction, hair loss treatments like hair transplant & growth factor concentrate and acne treatments. She also sees an increased demand for non-invasive treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, thread lifts, skin tightening lasers in Yavana Aesthetics. They are also doing more skin boosters for hands dryness /aging due to the increased use of sanitisers.

Dr. Agarwal says, “The initial covid times were tough. But thanks to the digital medium that helped us in connecting to our patients. Nonetheless with proper precautionary measures today we are glad that we could start our in-clinic services. I have noticed how aware people have become when it comes to skincare and aesthetic treatments. I’m glad we could help people.”

Dr. Madhuri is a learned professional having done her MD Dermatology from LTMMC Mumbai & an advance diploma in Dermatology and Venereology from the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Mumbai. She also has an MD in Alternative Medicines from the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines.
