Guwahati: Assam Born and Big Boss 13 fame television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has contributed to Assam CM relief fund to help those affected by floods and landslides in the state.
Devoleena has donated Rs. 73,000 to the relief fund and is hoping that others will also step forward to help those affected by the cyclone. Even though a lot of people were evacuated before the cyclone hit, the aftermath has been devastating.
“I have donated Rs 73,000 to Assam CM relief fund, and I feel that more people should come out and support the government in fighting this difficult time. My mother always taught me that the way I look after her, similarly I should care for my Assam, my India as they too are like mother,” said Devoleena Bhattacharjee.
“I just wish I could share the pain and suffering of my people who are suffering because of a natural calamity. I can just do this much for now. I hope it helps them,” she added.
The TV actress has become a helping hand for the people of Assam. Taking it to Twitter a fan wrote, “Thank youuuu so much Assam ki Gudiya @Devoleena_23 & team @devoleena_hands for the contribution of 73,000 towards Assam cm Relief fund for Amphan effeced victims… God bless you

According to the ASDMA, 229 villages have been affected so far due to the flood situation in Assam. 140 villages have been impacted in Goalpara, 19 in Dhimaji, 2 in Lakhimpr, 17 in Darrang, 26 in Dalbari, 140 in Goalpara, 6 in Dibrugarh, Tinsukia 19.
Devoleena Bhattacharjee rose to fame with Saath Nibhaana Saathiya as Gopi Bahu. She was last seen in Bigg Boss 13 but the actress had to leave the show midway due to her back problem.
