Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last rites performed at Vile Parle crematorium

Guwahati: Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last rites were performed at the Vile Parle crematorium on Monday. He was found dead at his house on Sunday, at the age of  34. While some members of his family flew down to Mumbai late Sunday, his father arrived with other family members from Patna on Monday afternoon.

The ambulance made its way to the Pawan Hans crematorium at Vile Parle in Mumbai. In the front seat of that ambulance was film producer Sandip Ssingh, a close friend of Sushant. Sushant Singh Rajput, the outsider who made it big in Bollywood, left his fans devastated with his death on Sunday morning. A pall of gloom descended upon the entire country, from Bihar to Bombay, as their favourite boy left them.

Sushant Singh Rajput was cremated at the Pawan Hans Crematorium at Vile Parle in Mumbai on Monday afternoon. His father and family members flew down to Mumbai today, after the actor was found dead at his Bandra home in Mumbai on Sunday morning. Sushant’s body was found hanging in his room, at his duplex apartment on Sunday morning, and the postmortem report said his death was due to asphyxiation by hanging.

Seen at the funeral, amid heavy rain, were his Chhichhore co-stars Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Prateik Babbar, Tahir Raj Basin his Raabta co-star Kriti Sanon, and his Dil Bechara director Mukesh Chhabra, among others. Also in attendance was Sushant’s Kedarnath and Kai Po Che director Abhishek Kapoor, who came with his wife, Pragya. Vivek Oberoi, Ranbir Shorey, Rajkumar Rao and Dinesh Vijani was also seen in the funeral. 

Ekta Kapoor, who was the person behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s success on TV, was also present at the actor’s funeral. When the news of Sushant’s death broke yesterday, Ekta wrote, “Not fair, my baby.”
