Guwahati: Television personality and actor Sidharth Shukla who rose to fame with Balika Vadhu has passed away at the age of 40, an official at the Cooper Hospital Mumbai, said. According to reports, Shukla suffered a massive heart attack in the morning and was declared brought dead to the hospital. The post mortem examination has not begun as the police procedures are still going on.
Born on 12 December, 1980, in Mumbai to Ashok Shukla and Rita Shukla, Sidharth’s family has roots in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh. He completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s High School, Fort and later graduated in Interior designing from Rachana Sansad School of Interior Design.
He won the World’s Best Model title in December 2005 beating 40 other participants from across Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
Sidharth Shukla made his acting debut with the Hindi TV show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na in 2008. This was followed by appearances in shows such as Aahat, Love U Zindagi, CID and Jaane Pehchaane Se… Ye Ajnabi.
However, Sidharth achieved his major breakthrough with the popular serial Balika Vadhu, wherein he played the main lead. His character Shiv was loved by everyone and that made him a household name.
In a recent interview, Sidharth said, “Balika Vadhu played an important part in my life and an extremely critical role in my career. I got a chance to work and learn with the best from the television industry and it surely holds a very special part in my heart. With Balika Vadhu we created history. The show’s concept helped create a lot of awareness in the past, but Baal Vivaah is a social evil that unfortunately still exists, and we need to continue fighting this battle.”
After the success of Balika Vadhu Sidharth never looked back and was followed by a number of TV shows and Reality Shows.
Sidharth is known for his roles in daily soaps such as “Dil Se Dil Tak”. He is also popular for his tints in reality shows such as “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6″, “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi“.
His latest success which gave him the limelight was winning Bigg Boss13 which brought him film offers, too. He was once again loved by all.
In 2014, Sidharth Shukla made his Bollywood debut with the Karan Johar-produced Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania where he had a supporting role.
Sidharth featured in several music videos with his rumoured girlfriend and former Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill, including tracks like “Bhula Dunga” and “Shona Shona.”
The actor was last seen as a special guest on Bigg Boss OTT and Dance Deewane 3. He also appeared as the male lead in the web series Broken But Beautiful 3 this year.
The year 2020 also saw a shocking demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput who was found dead at his Mumbai apartment on June 14. It’s been a year, but the nation still continues to feel the void left by the late actor.
