GUWAHATI: Assam reported two more COVID- 19 deaths on Saturday, while the number of cases increased sharply with 405 persons testing positive, the National Health Mission (NHM) said.
The state reported 281 cases on Friday.
The death toll rose to 1,117 with the latest fatalities, NHM said.
The state has so far tested 74,48,662 samples, it said.
In all, 2,19,958 cases have been detected in Assam.
Total 79 people were discharged during the day following their recovery, NHM said.

The state at present has 1,587 active cases.
Total 2,15,907 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered in the state.
NHM said total 12,35,767 persons have so far received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the state, while 2,49,619 persons got the second dose. PTI
