GUWAHATI: Many sitting Congress MLAs in Assam may not get party tickets if their chances to win the election are less, said Congress in-charge for Assam Jitendra Singh in Guwahati.
“A sitting MLA will not get ticket automatically. It will depend on his/her chances to win,” Singh said after attending a meeting with district and block Congress presidents.
He stated that the seat-sharing in the Congress-led grand alliance will be determined by the winnability of the parties.
“We have been discussing with our allies. The seat-sharing will be based on the winnability. There is no consideration above it. The process is underway in Assam itself,” the Congress leader said.
