GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday distributed one-time financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 to each of the 1,000 sportspersons who had brought laurels to the state at national and international events, sports pension to former players, and equipment to players of Khelo India Youth Games-2020.
“Giving due respect to the sportspersons, CM Shri @sarbanandsonwal ceremonially handed over ₹50,000 one-time incentive to 1000 sportspersons who have brought laurels for the state at various National & International events,” the Chief Minister Tweeted.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the renovation work of the Bimala Prasad Chaliha Swimming Pool and inaugurated the newly constructed building of Assam Fencing Association on the premises of Nehru Stadium.

Besides this, CM Sonowal inaugurated a medical center of the Assam Sports Journalists Association at the TRP Indoor Stadium in Guwahati.
