GUWAHATI: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district on January 23 to take part in land patta distribution to local landless families, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday visited the meeting venue to take stock of the preparations.
The Chief Minister while reviewing progress of activities taken in connection with the meeting also held discussion with the district administration and senior officials of the government departments.
Sonowal directed the officials to work with coordination to ensure success of the meeting. He also asked them to take steps so that people visiting the venue do not have to face any difficulty.
Further in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister urged the health department to take appropriate preventive measures.
Sonowal also instructed the department to conduct RTPCR test of the beneficiaries who would formally receive the land patta documents from the Prime Minister. He also took stock of the steps taken by PHE, PWD, APDCL, Transport etc. departments and directed them to complete all necessary activities expeditiously.

MoS for Revenue and Disaster Management (i/c) Jogen Mohan, MP Dilip Saikia, Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, MLA Kushal Dowari, ADGP (Law & Order) G.P. Singh and senior officials of the district administration were present during the visit of the Chief Minister.
