GUWAHATI: North East Democratic Alliance convenor and Assam cabinet minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that recent victory in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election has ensured the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in 2021.
Addressing the state executive meeting in Karimganj, Sarma spoke on the growing organisational power of the BJP in every part of Assam.
“In 2016, we couldn’t win a single seat in the Bodoland area. But today we have claimed victory in the BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region). We must thank all the BJP of Bodoland….The victory in Bodoland ensured that BJP will definitely form government in 2021,” Sarma said.
He also came down heavily on Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) for posing threats to Assamese culture and tradition.
