GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has appointed Baijayant Panda as the Assam BJP in-charge for the upcoming 2021 elections.
Panda was a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha for two terms from 2000 to 2009. He joined the BJP in March 2019.
Panda is considered an important leader of the party who will coordinate with cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Assam Health, Finance and Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Tweeted, ” Compliments to Sri @PandaJay on being appointed as Prabhari (Incharge) of #Assam and Shri Pawan Sharma as Seh Prabahri (Co-Incharge).
