Riyan Parag slams maiden IPL half-century, youngest to score an IPL fifty

PUBLISHED:

Promising young cricketer and Assam’s new sports star, Riyan Parag, continued his fine form with the bat as he slammed his maiden IPL half-century in the match against Delhi Capitals in Delhi today (May 4).

Riyan, son of former Assam Ranji player Parag Das and international swimmer Mithu Baruah, etched his name in IPL record books by becoming the youngest player to score a fifty in the history of the cash-rich tournament.

The 17-year-old continued to impress with his batting prowess and single-handedly took Rajasthan to some respectable score with his 49-ball 50 that was studded with four boundaries and two huge sixes.

No other palyer managed to click in front of the Delhi bowlers.

His recent performances have also been very impressive and he has earned plaudits from his skipper, Australian Steve Smith, and several current and former players for his performances and playing approach.
