GUWAHATI: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police arrested one of the prime accused of the Assam Police sub-inspector recruitment scam, Akshay Chand Baid from Apollo Hospital on Tuesday.
According to reports, Akshay was undergoing medical treatment at the hospital. Akshay Chand Baid who was also known as Akhiya Chand was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. After his arrest, Akshay was produced before the court on October 27. The honorable court sent him to judicial custody and will be questioned by a team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police in Guwahati Central Jail.
Akshay is the owner of Akshay Telecommunication in Bongaigaon and was assigned the job of printing SI-exam question papers and conducting the exam. Akshay was on the run soon after the exam scam came to light.
