GUWAHATI: Luba a 9 month-old she-bear reared by Terde Yomcha of Lipu Yomcha Village in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, was formally handed over to the Aalo forest division amid a tearful send-off, Luba was in turn handed over to the State Zoo in Itanagar on Wednesday.
Luba, the bear cub was domestically reared and brought up by Terde Yomcha at his home in Yomcha. Terde had to send the cub off as he had to undertake his further studies at a college in Itanagar and there was nobody at home to take care of the cub, moreover with the cub at the state Zoo in Itanagar he will be able to visit Luba often.
Amid a tearful send-off, Terde handed over the cub to the Aalo forest division, requesting them to take due care of Luba and also to give him access to meet the cub off and on at Itanagar Zoo.
