GUWAHATI: The 17th general conference of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) will be held from November 18 with a four-day programme at Duliajan in Dibrugarh district.
AASU general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi announced the date after it was fixed at an executive meeting.
“The general conference of the AASU central committee will be held on November 18, 19, 20 and 21. Mainly this conference will be held at Solakotoki field. Some other fields have been selected for various programmes. We are looking forward for the people’s cooperation,” Lurinjyoti Gogoi said at a press meet at Duliajan.
At this conference, the current leadership is likely to leave the student body to join Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), the newly formed-political party.
