GUWAHATI: Hitting out at the trend of forming regional parties ahead of Assam assembly election in 2021, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that some leaders have turned the politics a joke.
“They form a party in the morning. Some gets merged in the evening. They have reduced it to a joke,” Sarma said during an interview with News Live chief managing editor Syed Zarir Hussain.
He stated that elections can’t be won only with addressing press meets in Guwahati.
“It is a serious business,” Sarma added.
The minister also said that the intellectuals, journalists, academicians who have joined newly-formed political parties would be now treated as politicians.
