Pre-promotion Cadre Course for Assam Police inaugurated at North Eastern Police Academy

GUWAHATI: Assam Director General of Police(DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Tuesday inaugurated a specially designed Pre-promotion Cadre Course for Assam Police Sub Inspectors. The course will be available in the North Eastern Police Academy situated in Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya.

The Government of Assam will send 549 police personnel to North Eastern Police Academy, in two batches for the year 2020. The first batch comprising 273 ASIs and HCs reported for the program at North Eastern Police Academy.

DGP Mahanta said in a twitter post, “Visited North Eastern Police Academy today at Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya; to inaugurate a specially designed Pre-promotion Cadre Course for Assam Police Sub Inspectors. This year 549 police personnel are going to this premier institute in two batches.”

Mahanta in his address appreciated Deepak Kumar, IPS, Director and entire team of North Eastern Police Academy in making the training institute a center of excellence in police training.

“The first batch comprising 273 ASIs and HCs reported for the program which was formally inaugurated today. I congratulate Shri Deepak Kumar, IPS, Director, and his team of NEPA for making this institute a center of excellence in police training,” added Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.

The DGP further said, “I also appeal to NEPA, to put more emphasis on training the police personnel for fighting crimes against women & children, and of course, drugs menace.”
