GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident a woman was stabbed inside a stationery shop at Noonmati, Guwahati. The incident took place at around 03:00 PM on Wednesday(September 9) in a shop named ‘Haloi Brothers’.
The woman has been identified as Beauty Begum of Shalbari.
According to reports, Beauty Begum was shopping in the store when her husband ‘Pobitra Roy’ stabbed her with a knife. The woman was seriously injured in the incident. Roy tried to flee the spot but local people nabbed him and handed him over to Police.
The injured woman was rushed to GATE Hospital in Narengi. Later she was transferred to GMCH for further treatment.
However, her condition is currently stable and she has been discharged from the hospital.
An FIR was registered with case (no. 495/20) at Noonmati Police Station regarding the incident and Assam Police is currently investigating the matter.
