AASU, AJYCP to form new political party within a week

GUWAHATI:  The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) are set to form the new political party within next seven days, said AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath.

Talking to News Live, Nath said, “Our planning is going well. AASU and AJYCP have been insisting on forming a political alternative for the interests of the people of Assam. It will be finalised very soon. If everything goes well, it may happen within a week.”

The AASU and AJYCP formed an 18-member ‘Assam Advisory Committee’ to suggest on their political moves.

The “Assam Advisory Committee” that had some of the most prominent names from the state submitted its report on September 2 and suggested the influential AASU-AJYCP to float a political party to contest the upcoming elections, reported PTI.
