GUWAHATI: Following the COVID-19 protocols set by the centre, the Assam government has been planning to open schools for the students of classes 9, 10 and 11 from October 1, said health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday.
The informal classes for higher secondary second year and undergraduate final year will start from Sptember 15.
“The teachers will attend schools from September 1. Schools will be sanitised during 1-15 September. Informal classes for HS 2nd year and undergraduate final year students will take place from September 15. Following the directives of the government of India, classes of 9,10, 11 and 12 will begin from October 1,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He stated that the directives will be the same both for private and government educational institutes.
