Guwahati: The CBI investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput death case is underway and the agency has summoned Rhea Chakraborty for questioning again by noon today (August 30).
According to a India Today report, Rhea Chakraborty was questioned for seven hours by the CBI on Saturday (August 28) in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The actress was asked about her financial transactions, especially regarding the Rs 15 crore allegation made by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, in his complaint on July 25.
According to sources, Rhea denied any wrongdoing and told the CBI that she has not taken a single penny from Sushant Singh Rajput’s bank account and whatever expenditure happened was as per the late actor’s wish.
Rhea was also grilled over her sources of income, which were not much, and was asked about how she was maintaining her lifestyle. To this, Rhea said that she would lead her lifestyle only as per her source of income and she has nothing to hide as everything is in black and white.
CBI officers including Nupur Prasad questioned Rhea regarding June 8, the day she left Sushant Singh Rajput’s home. Rhea was asked about why she left the late actor’s house when she knew that he was unwell and needed support in that mental state.
Responding to this, Rhea said that she never wanted to leave, but Sushant was adamant and wanted her to go back. The actress continued that he (Sushant) told her (Rhea) that he would moving out of the city to Coorg to pursue organic farming and had also started looking for a place to stay there.
Rhea further added that Sushant said that since her condition was also turning bad, she needs to be away for a few days to recover. Once she recovers, she can come back and help him.
Rhea was also asked about the time when she got to know that Sushant Singh Rajput was depressed. The CBI also questioned Rhea about if she tried to find any doctor for him, or was Sushant ever given an overdose of medicines.
The CBI had also questioned Rhea on Friday for 10 hours.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14. The Mumbai Police, declaring the case a suicide, filed an accidental death report and began investigating. On July 25, KK Singh filed a complaint against Rhea, her family, Shruti Modi and Samuel Miranda at Patna’s Rajiv Nagar Police station on the basis of which an FIR was registered. On August 19, the Supreme Court allowed the CBI to probe the case.
The Narcotics Control Bureau is probing the drug angle in the case while the Enforcement Directorate is investigating the financial angle.
