GUWAHATI: Assam has recorded 2,179 fresh COVID-19 cases out of the 36,225 tests conducted in the state on Tuesday. The positivity rate of the day was 6.01 per cent. With the addition of these new cases, the count has reached 96,771, mentioned health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.

On the other hand, 2,148 patients were discharged from hospitals and COVID-19 care centres in Assam after their recovery from the infection.

So far, total 76,962 patients have recovered from the disease.
Currently, there are 19,532 active cases in Assam. Meanwhile, death toll in the state reached 274 on Wednesday.
