GUWAHATI: A total lockdown has been imposed in the three districts of Assam’s Barak Valley from August 27. The COVID-19-induced lockdown will continue till September 4 in Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi districts.
The administration has taken the decision to re-impose the lockdown in the view of rising Coronavirus cases in the Barak valley.
Meanwhile, residents in these three districts of southern Assam have welcomed the decision of the government to tackle COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is a good decision. There is no alternative as the cases are rising,” said a citizen in Karimganj.
