GUWAHATI: Assam Police has registered a total of 1046 COVID-19 cases till July 24, stated by Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.
Addresing media persons, Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said, “1046 police personnel have tested COVID-19 positive till date, out of which 730 police personnel have already recovered and 313 are active cases. We have unfortunately lost three colleagues till date.”

The three deceased Assam Police personnel are Hareswar Nath, Nayak Rajesh Narzary and Puni Mech Paul.
Mahanta further paid tributes to the three police personnel who died due to COVID-19.
