GUWAHATI: With the increasing water level on the Brahmaputra, ferry service between Jorhat and Majuli has been suspended until further order.
The administration has ordered suspension of all the ferry services between Nimati Ghat and Majuli in view of rising water level induced by the heavy shower on Thursday.
“The authorities have ordered suspension of ferry services to ensure the safety of the public,” said an employee of Inland Water Transport Department.
