Two hundred and five candidates have come out successfully with flying colours in the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE 2016) conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), results of which were declared yesterday (Nov 16).
While 95 successful candidates cleared CCE 2016 as Assam Civil Service (Junior Grade) officers, 60 cleared the examination as Assam Land & Revenue Service (Junior Grade) officers, 3 under APS (Junior Grade), 3 as Labour Officers, 2 as Superintendent of Taxes, 5 as Asstt. Registrar of Co-operative Societies, 7 as Inspector of Labour, 8 as Inspector of Taxes, 12 as Inspector of Excise and the remaining 10 cleared as Asstt. Employment Officers.
Maria Tanim of Lala in Hailakandi district topped the examination while Munmi Saikia came second and Nirmal Jyoti Sarmah was third in the list of successful candidates.

“I am extremely happy that I could crack CCE 2016 and emerge as the topper. I was preparing for the exam for two and a half years and am extremely delighted that I could clear the examination,” Maria told News Live, adding that she took Political Science and Educationa as her optional subjects.
“She had worked very hard and we are really very happy that she has topped the examination,” Maria’s father, a retired BDO, told News Live.
Incidentally, both Maria and her father lauded the initiatives taken by the Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam Government for their efforts to cleanse the APSC and revive its lost glory.

Other toppers also expressed happiness after cracking the Combined Competitive Examination 2016 and hoped to serve the State and work for the welfare of the people.
