A 16-year-old girl, who fled from her home at Borhat tea estate in Tinsukia district, was raped inside a house in North Guwahati for three days. The girl, a student of Class IX, met the alleged rapist at the Gauhati Railway Station after she deboarded from a train on Thursday.
The victim had left her home without informing her family members.
Deba Das, the alleged rapist, forcibly took her to a house in North Guwahati where he sexually assaulted her for three days. The victim today (Nov 5) managed to escape from the house taking advantage of the absence of the alleged rapist and arrived at a primary health centre where she narrated her ordeal.
Hospital authorities informed North Guwahati police about the incident following which police arrived and a medical test was conducted on her at the health centre.
Police have begun investigations into the incident. The accused, however, is still on the run.
