GUWAHATI: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati will receive 13 domestic flights on Thursday. The airport authority along with the district administrations, health and transport departments have made necessary preparations to receive the passengers in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have made all the necessary arrangements. We have a transport cell outside the airport. We have been ensuring to transport the passengers to the screening centres in their respective districts,” said Anand Prakash Tiwari, managing director (MD), Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC).
The domestic flight service resumed in the country on Monday. A woman who had travelled from Ahmedabd to Guwahati on May 25 tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. She was the first air passenger in Assam to test COVID-19 positive after the resumption of domestic flight service. The woman is currently being treated at Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital( MMCH).
