GUWAHATI: The Assam Government will deliver medicines under the ‘Dhanwantari’ scheme to people in quarantine only. Addressing media persons in Guwahati on Thursday Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that since some relaxations have been made in lockdown rules, the medicine-delivery scheme will only cover the people in quarantine.
Dr. Sarma mentioned that so far medicines have been delivered to 7306 people at their homes. The State government launched the scheme on April 24 to make home delivery of locally unavailable medicines amid lockdown restrictions. Health workers delivered medicines to the patients at home who cannot get it within 10 KM of their radius.
However, as lockdown rules have been eased in the fourth phase, the scheme will now only cover the people in quarantine.
