GUWAHATI: A 2-month-old baby is among the new COVID-19 patients in Assam detected on Tuesday, informed Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Talking to media persons during his visit to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati, Dr. Sarma said that an infant has been found positive for COVID-19.
“Among the 42 new cases we found today, there is a 2 –month-old baby,” said health minister Sarma.
Dr. Sarma stated that the baby from Hojai is being treated at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The father of the infant also tested positive for COVID-19. Though the mother tested negative, she is staying with the infant for necessary care.
The family had returned to Assam from other states.
