No one will be allowed to receive incoming passengers by private vehicles: GP Singh

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has made adequate arrangements to receive the passengers coming by New Delhi-Dibrugarh special passenger train which is scheduled to enter Assam today. The train which departed on Tuesday from Delhi will reach Guwahati at 8.15 PM today. It will reach its destination Dibrugarh at 7 AM on Thursday. Talking to media persons in Guwahati additional director general of police (ADGP) of law and order GP Singh said that the concerned district authorities will receive the passengers at the stations and take them to specified screening centres for quarantine.

“No passengers will travel in a private vehicle after they deboard the train. I request everyone not to come for receiving the passengers with private vehicles. We have arranged vehicles at all the five stations. After getting down at the station, they will go to the health screening centre,” said Singh.

He also stated that all deputy commissioners (DC) and superintendents of police (SP) have been told to make necessary arrangements to quarantine the passengers in their respective home districts.
