GUWAHATI, May 1: The detection of four COVID-19 positive persons in Bongaigaon yesterday has also sent shivers in neighbouring Barpeta district. Barpeta district administration has now sealed the SBI branch at Sorbhog besides quarantining two employees and a family member after Mina Biswakarma – the 60-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday – had visited the bank on April 27 to withdraw her husband’s pension.

Three others who she met during his visit to Sorbhog have also been quarantined at Barpeta Medical College Hospital.

Significantly, questions are now being asked as to how Mina Biswakarma could travel all the way from Bongaigaon to Sorbhog during the lockdown period.
News Live has reliably learnt that the woman travelled to Sorbhog in an ambulance that was driven by her son.
Contact tracing of other people the woman could have met during the course of her journey to Sorbhog is underway.
