GUWAHATI: One more COVID-19 patient has been discharged today from Sonapur Civil Hospital in Assam. The patient named Hazrat Ali has been discharged in the presence of Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and his deputy Pijush Hazarika after two successive tests of the person confirmed negative. With his discharge, the total number of cured COVID-19 patients in Assam has reached 18. Currently, there are 15 active cases in the state.
On Sunday five COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital after they fully recovered from the disease. Manish Tibrewal, Guwahati’s first COVID-19 patient was discharged from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Four other patients – Md Mafijuddin from Boko, Jamila Khatun from Jagiroad, Ashraf Ali from South Salmara Mankachar and Md Sahrukh from Uttar Pradesh were also discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati.
