GUWAHATI: Two more persons from middle Assam’s Morigaon district have tested COVID19 positive on Thursday, announced health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The persons are the secondary contacts of the attendees of Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. With this the total number of COVID19 positive cases has reached 34. However, 5 among them have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
Two COVID19 patients from Morigaon district were discharged from Sonapur Hospital on Wednesday. Three more patients have been discharged on Thursday from Goalpara Civil Hospital. On the other hand, Assam reported its first COVID19 death on April 10.
“They both are secondary contacts of #NizamuddinMarkaz attendees. The cumulative number of patients in Assam now stands at 34. So far 5 patients have been cured,” tweeted Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
