The Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati on Friday took the attire of an airport. The newly appointed Congress in-charge for Assam and former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat inaugurated a replica of Rafale fighter jets in the head office of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) in Guwahati.
The APCC has stepped up its campaign- Jawab Do-Hisab Do in Assam, aiming to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP on its unfulfilled promises before the Lok Sabha elections.
According to APCC president, Ripun Bora, the replica of Rafale fighter jets was inaugurated for series of agitation programme to expose Rafale deal scam state wide. APCC also reviewed the comprehensive preparations for reaching Rafale deal scam across the state.
“Apart from the Prime Minister, only Anil Ambani knew that the government of India is going to buy Rafale fighter jets. Modi bypassed the cabinet committee for security, defence deal negotiating committee, only to get the deal inflated to triple the price at which the UPA worked out the deal, that too, without transfer of technology,” Harish Rawat said.
Other than APCC president Ripun Bora, leader of opposition Debabrata Saikia, MLA Rockybul Hussain and various members of Pradesh Congress Committee were present on this occasion.
