Right thinking Congress members bound to quit: Bhubaneswar Kalita

Guwahati: Answering a question on Jyotiraditya Scindia leaving Congress and joining BJP, senior BJP leader Bhubaneswar Kalita told media persons that the Congress party still had a few good men who are rethinking their decision to remain in the party.

“Right thinking members in Congress are compelled to think of an alternative. If this kind of political scenario continues in the Congress party these men will be bound to quit the party and serve the country in different other ways,” said the former Congressman.

The BJP had on Wednesday, officially announced Bhubaneswar Kalita as their first candidate for Assam’s Rajya Sabha election to be held on 26 March.  Kalita had left the Congress and joined the BJP last year.

Bhubaneswar Kalita thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and other members of his party. “I am thankful to PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National President of BJP JP Nadda. I am grateful to Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, and Assam Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP state president Ranjit Kumar Dass for their extended support and believing in me,” said Kalita.
