GUWAHATI: Making the state proud, Assam’s Kushal Changmai has won the overall championship in World Grandpix India Amature and the overall champion in 7th Mr. India organized by WFF and WBBF India. The competition was held on March 4 in New Delhi.

Changmai who works as the manager at Govindapur Tea Estate in Golaghat district also got the chance to represent India at the World Body-Building Championship at Koper in Slovenia in 2016. He also bagged the silver medal in the National Bodybuilding Championship held in Ahmedabad in 2017.

Despite his busy schedule in the tea garden, Kushal Changmai has kept his penchant for body-building alive. Changmai was a body-builder since his college days and won several competitions but since he joined the tea industry in 2000, he had to give it up. However, he managed to find time after 10 years and started working out again since 2011. Two years later, Changmai won the Mr Assam title for two consecutive years (2013 and 2014).

“I am really happy about bringing glory to Assam. There were participants from many other countries. I am looking forward to more such achievements in my career,” Changmai said.
