DALGAON/GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Tuesday morning arrested one Nazrul Islam for allegedly killing two of his children. The accused, Nazrul Islam, allegedly threw the kids in a nearby pond in the wee hours of Tuesday which possibly led to the death of the two.
The deceased are Nur Sahida(4) and Eyadul Hussain(5). The accused said that he killed his daughter and son after having an argument with his wife.
An FIR has been registered in the case and further investigation is underway.
“Around 03:00 AM we heard a lot of noise. Our neighbour’s wife was shouting ‘where are my children’, hearing that I rushed to their home and asked them what’s going on. The wife told me that she can’t find her kids. I asked Nazrul (father) where the kids were. He replied that he had thrown them in the pond. We immediately went to the pond for rescue but the kids were already dead,” said a neighbour.
