GUWAHATI/ NEW DELHI: Assam put up a spectacular show at Republic day parade in New Delhi today.
The tableau of Assam focused specially on bamboo and cane crafts of the state. Bamboo and cane crafts are integral parts of the Assamese lifestyle.
The tableau also displayed heritage and cultural diversity of Assam with the performance of ‘Bhortal Nritya’ at Rajpath.
The national capital’s main promenade, Rajpath, came alive during Republic day celebrations with soldiers from multiple military contingents marching to the beats of brass bands, colourful tableaux highlighting the country’s rich diversity, and battle tanks, state-of-the-art fighter aircrafts and advanced missile systems turning heads at the 70th Republic Day parade as President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief guest Brazil President Jair Bolosonaro and other leaders looked on.
