GUWAHATI, Jan 2: Team India and the Sri Lankan cricket team are raring to begin the New Year with a bang as the two nations face each other in the first of the three Twenty-20 internationals at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Jan 5 (Sunday).
The Sri Lankan team arrived in Guwahati for the high-voltage tie today evening and headed straight to the Radisson Blu hotel where they will be staying during their stay in the city.
The Lankans are being led by veteran seamer Lasith Malinga while former skipper Angelo Angelo Mathews was recalled to the T20I squad after a 16-month absence from the shortest form of the game.
The visitors are expected to hit the nets tomorrow.
On the other hand, the Team India cricketers will arrive in Guwahati tomorrow in separate flights.
