Guwahati, Dec 21: A man was found lying unconscious at Agsia of Azara area on Friday after he was looted by unidentified miscreants.
According to reports, the man identified as Suraj Zamal arrived in Guwahati from Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday night.
While he was waiting for a bus to Goalpara at the Jalukbari bus stop, Zamal was approached by a group of four men who offered him a lift to Goalpara in their car.
Zamal said that after getting into the car, he was given some kind of sedatives and immediately fell unconscious. According to the victim, the group of miscreants looted cash Rs 2.15 lakh and other valuables from his possession.
Later, locals of Agsia area noticed him lying unconscious on roadside. After getting the information from local people, Azara police took Suraj Zamal and admitted him to a nearby hospital. After his health condition improved the victim was then handed over to Jalukbari Police as the incident was reported from Jalukbari bus stop.
