Guwahati: In a broad daylight heist, two unidentified miscreants allegedly looted a bag containing ₹2 lakh cash from a woman named Bihula Brahma in Narengi area on November 19th, 2019.
Incidents of criminals diverting the attention of ladies and snatching their gold chains are on the rise in Guwahati. These Bike-borne criminals not only snatch gold chains but also take away purses and bags containing cash and valuables. The police at this hour seem helpless to curb such incidents.
According to Bihula Brahma, as she came out of the Mathgharia branch of the State Bank of India after withdrawing the amount, two motorcycle-borne miscreants, snatched the money bag from her and sped away.
A complaint has been registered against the unknown men, but so far, nobody has been detained, said the police.
A majority of such incidents have taken place during afternoons and late evening hours when the streets are less populated and so it is difficult to identify these miscreants.
