Bangladeshi nationals are using newer and ingenious methods to enter Assam and other Indian States. Videos that became viral on the social media had earlier showed illegal migrants using a plank and literally throwing men, women and children from the Bangladeshi soil to the Indian side.

Illegal migrants from Bangladesh are now resorting to more ingenious measures, that includes crawling through hume pipes, to enter India. This has come to light after the arrest of two Bangladeshi nationals, alleged to be cattle smugglers, by Nilambazar police in Assam’s Karimganj district.

While seven Bangladeshi nationals had entered India, only two could be arrested while the rest managed to escape. A police constable was also injured after he was attacked by the Bangladeshis. The two arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Atabur Rahman and Samsul Islam.

Police have launched a combing operation to nab the five Bangladeshis who had escaped but are believed to be still in India.
