Self-professed alternative medicine expert Pankaj Pathak was on Wednesday forced to kneed down and apologise — that too in front of a cheering mob and a posse of policemen — after he and a few close associates were accused of manhandling and assaulting a retired teacher during a medical camp he had organized in Goalpara today (July 2).

“I apologise for the altercation and the reported misbehaviour with the person. If someone had misbehaved or resorted to physical assault, we apologise for that. We also apologise to people of Goalpara for the incident,” videos showed Pankaj Pathak and his associates, kneeling down and holding their ears, and apologising to the people.

Meanwhile, the retired teacher named Tapan Chakraborty who was allegedly physically assaulted by Pankaj Pathak and his associates, narrated what had happened and how he was assaulted by Pankaj Pathak and his associates.

Chakraborty also said he was shocked at the behaviour of Pankaj Pathak and his associates and expressed hope that such behaviour would not be repeated by the self-professed naturopathy expert.
