Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today (June 28) offered his prayers at shaktipeeth Kamakhya Temple. He was accompanied by his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, son Nandil and daughter Sukanya during his visit to the highly-revered Shaktipeeth, as he sought the blessings of Maa Kamakhya.

Speaking to journalists after offering obeisance to Goddess Kamakhya, Dr Sarma expressed his happiness over the successful completion of the Maha Ambubachi Mela and hoped Maa Kamakhya would continue to shower her blessings on Assam and its people.

He also congratulated the Tourism Department, the Kamakhya Devalaya management and everyone else associated with the Maha Ambubachi Mela for hosting the event in such a streamlined and well-coordinated manner.

“I along with my family offered our prayers to Maa Kamakhya. We visit Kamakhya Temple after Nibriti every year and offer our prayers. Although the Ambubachi ended a couple of days ago, I did not visit the temple considering the huge number of devotees who were visiting the temple. So we came here today and offered our prayers,” Chief Minister Dr Sarma told News Live.
