The woman hailing from Udali in Lanka, Assam, alleged that her husband and in-laws have been torturing her and her daughters for the past many years
A woman in Lanka, Assam, has alleged that she has been tortured by her husband and in-laws. Her crime, if it may so be called, is that she gave birth to three daughters and could not give him a son.
The victim, identified as Khewarun Necha, was married to a person named Azir Uddin of Barjuha village in Udali, Lanka, about 25 years ago.
She alleged that her husband and in-laws have been torturing her ever since the birth of her second daughter.
The woman also alleged that they even tried to kill her and her daughters by mixing poisonous substances in their food.
LISTEN IN TO WHAT THE VICTIM ALLEGED:
She had filed a police complaint against her husband at Udali police outpost and a case is pending in court.
The victim has now alleged that even after seeking police help, the ill-treatment and torture on her and her daughters continues.
She has now approached Hojai Superintendent of Police for help and has also sought help and justice from Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and other senior police officials.
