Former Congress MLA Sanjay Raj Subba, younger brother of Mani Subba, passes away

Sanjay Raj Subba was elected to the Assam Assembly from Naoboicha twice in 2006 and 2011

Congress leader Sanjay Raj Subba, a former two-term MLA of Naoboicha assembly constituency of Assam, passed away on Tuesday (June 17) due to high-pressure related issues.

He was 65 and passed away at Laluk Model Hospital.

The younger brother of controversial Tezpur MP Mani Kumar Subba, Sanjay Raj Subba represented Naoboicha in the State Assembly for two terms having first elected in 2006 as an Independent and then going to retain his seat in 2011 on a Congress ticket.

He lost the 2016 Assam assembly elections to AIUDF candidate Mamun Imdadul Haque Chawdhury.

His death has been widely mourned in Naoboicha with people of the constituency along with several social organizations condoling his demise and expressing their sympathies to the bereaved family members.
